Daily Blog #1

So I woke up today and had the great pleasure of going to a photo shoot for this really cool project called "Words with Friends" (no relation to the mobile game that is like Scrabble). You can check out the photos at http://www.wordswithfriendsproject.com/. Mine will probably be posted in the next few days. I'll make sure to tweet them (my twitter name is nicolasdromard). The shoot took just 45 minutes. I had to come up with some sayings to write on my body, things that I wanted to say, that mattered to me. You'll be able to read them soon. It was fun and the photographer, Adrien, who is also the creator of the project, was so sweet.

Then I met up with my friend James and we headed to SIX FLAGS!!! Yup. My last day off in LA was spent riding some pretty incredible roller coasters, feeling the sun on my face and getting flipped upside down and all around. I've got to say that the X2 is probably one of my favourite roller coasters of all time. The technology these days.... Wow!! I highly recommend it. The great thing about amusement parks is that whoever you are with, you are in a situation where you'll be most likely waiting in lines for more than a few minutes, so it opens up the chance to really get into some deep conversations about life, love, religion, politics, career and WHOOOOAA!!!!! Coaster time. I had some wonderful conversations with my pal and I can't tell you how great it is to be able to connect with someone. We are always so distracted with life, walking the dog, checking our emails, going to auditions, gym, drive, go do this, etc.... We forget how to connect with people away from Facebook and Twitter and text messaging. If I can have one word of advice for you: go have coffee with a friend, and turn your cell phone OFF!! Enjoy the conversation and give that person your undivided attention. It's one of the best gifts you can give someone.

Ok I'm off my soap box. After the wonderful day of coasters, I ended up at some of the crew members apartment for a friendly evening of poker. More great conversations were had while my flush and full houses were making me win some chips! By the way, getting back up on my soap box for a second... Cast members are very important in a show, but the crew members who are backstage making every body look good are the unsung heroes of theatre. They work so hard setting everything up and making us look good, I challenge you to take a second to go thank a member of IATSE (the stage hands union) and tell them how thankful you are that they are making the show happen. I tap dance upside down only because I trust my crew members and know that they have my back.

Anyways, that's it! I came home and enjoyed a quick conversation over FaceTime with my family in France right now (they are 9 hours ahead) and now I'm exhausted from this great day and ready for bed. Tomorrow is another great busy day and I'll tell you all about it in my next post. Good night!

Cheers,
Nicolas
