Three of New York's premiere vocalists- Daniel Rodriquez, Michael Amante and Andy Cooney - billed as "The New York Tenors" will bring an "evening of vocal excellence" featuring music from Broadway, opera, film and American classics to the McCallum Theatre tonight, January 17, and Friday, January 18.

Since the inception of The Three Tenors on July 7, 1990 in Rome at the Baths of Caracalla on the eve of the FIFA World Cup Final, Plácido Domingo, José Carreras and the one and only Luciano Pavarotti have opened the doors for other great voices, such as the Irish Tenors, The Canadian Tenors and this nationally renowned trio who pay tribute to the great city of New York through their inimitable vocal stylings.

The New York Tenors combine the artistry of three men who alone are superb, but together provide an overwhelming, "can't-miss" showcase of some of the world's greatest vocalists and repertoire.

Daniel Rodriguez, "America's Singing Policeman,"came to light during one of the darkest times of our nation's history. He was the New York City police officer whose amazing voice comforted a grieving nation in the days following September 11. He continues to inspire, stir and embrace his listeners through his recordings and memorable live concert performances.

Michael Amante is affectionately known as "The People's Tenor."With Michael's long history of singing popular Rock and Gospel music, coupled with extensive classical Bel-Canto training, he is able to sing with a strength and mastery rarely heard anywhere in the world. Since his title role performance of Oliver at age 6, he has been delighting audiences from all walks of life with the effortless, unabashed power and style of singing that is classy but not harshly classical

Andy Cooney was christened "Irish America's Favorite Son" by The New York Times, a title he truly deserves. Andy has been taking the Irish American scene by storm for the last 20 years. His unique tenor voice has been heard in concert halls internationally, including two sold out performances in New York's Carnegie Hall.

The McCallum Theatre presents The New York Tenors for two performances, tonight, January 17, at 8:00pm and Friday, January 18, at 8:00pm. Tickets are priced at $75, $55, $45 and $25 and are available at the Theatre's web site at www.mccallumtheatre.com, or by calling the McCallum Theatre box office at (760) 340-2787 (ARTS).
