80 West Productions has announced, the first Los Angeles production granted full rights by the author for their production of, BRILIANT TRACES, written by Cindy Lou Johnson and directed by John Hindman.
BRILLIANT TRACES will preview on Thursday, 2/2/12 at 8pm; and will open on Friday, February 3 at 8pm and run through Sunday, March 11, 2012 at The Lounge 2 Theatre, 6201 Santa Monica Blvd. in Hollywood.
About the show: "BRILLIANT TRACES takes the audience on an unforgettable emotional journey. In a remote cabin in the wilds of Alaska a lonely figure lies sleeping under a heap of blankets as a blizzard rages outside. Suddenly, a distraught young woman who has fled her impending marriage, bursts into the cabin dressed in full bridal regalia. Thrown together in the confines of the snowbound cabin, these two strangers share their reasons for fleeing the world they knew only to find the desperation and longing they both have in common. As they dig through each others lives what unfolds is a deep, thought-provoking, and often painful look into what separates us and ultimately what brings us together. Through incisive dialogue, humor, and heartache Brilliant Traces is a riveting portrait of the human condition that will stay with you long after you leave the theater."
ABOUT THE CREATIVE TEAM AND CAST
JOHN HINDMAN (Director) is the writer/director of the 2009 Sundance Film Festival Grand Jury Prize Nominee The Answer Man starring Jeff Daniels and Lauren Graham. The film was distributed by Magnolia Pictures. He has written for both studios and independents including Christmas in New York for producer Kevin Messick as well as Familymoon for Walden Media. Earlier in the year he directed an award winning production of David Auburn’s Pulitzer Prize and Tony award-winning play Proof and Crimes of the Heart at the Open Fist. John currently teaches Master Scene Study with teacher and casting director Deborah Aquila C.S.A. at the Aquila Morong Studio for Actors.
CAITLIN RENÉE CAMPBELL (Producer) An Actress / Producer at the Open Fist, cRc’s OFTC producing credits include: Blue Night in the Heart of the West, The Summer Shakespeare Festival, World Premiere of Frank Zappa's Joe's Garage (Marketing Producer), Light Up the Sky, Neil LaBute's The New Testament and Helter Skelter, Stage Door; and Sorority Queen in a Mobile Home. As a 1st AD in FILM: Scream at the Sound of the Beep, “gAg;” Kemo Sabe (AFI-DWW Project), Piranhas, CAPTAIN, Fully Loaded, The Last Gamble, Retreat and Teacher of the Year. Independently, she produced Proof, Arthur Miller's After the Fall, and the short film CAPTAIN.
