BWW TV: Interviews and Behind the Scenes at SeaGlass's A CHRISTMAS TWIST

SeaGlass Theatre Company of Los Angeles is currently twisting your Dickens in their holiday production ofA CHRISTMAS TWIST written by Doug Armstrong, Keith Cooper and Maureen Morley (formerly of Chicago's celebrated Illegitimate Players). BWW TV's Los Angeles correspondents and producers Michael Sterling and Jerry Evans of the JLE Media Group were at the much anticipated November 10^th opening to give Broadway World a sneak preview of the hilarious holiday offering on stage through   December 16, 2012 at the Victory Theatre Center's Big Vic Theatre in Burbank, CA.  Ovation nominated actor and SeaGlass Theatre Managing Director Paul Stroili directs the production.  

Following SeaGlass' critically acclaimed 2011 production of Steven Berkoff's Kvetch; their 2010 Steinbeck spoof Of Grapes and Nuts in 2010; David Lindsay-Abaire's Wonder of the World (2009), and their initial 2008 co-production of How Cissy Grew (starring SeaGlass Board Member James Denton of Desperate Housewives), A CHRISTMAS TWIST irreverently melds the Dickensian worlds of Oliver Twist and A Christmas Carol with rich, deep comic characterizations, combining the energy and spontaneous humor of improv with the intellectually pleasing thoughtfulness of well-crafted satire.

SeaGlass Theater's revival of  A CHRISTMAS TWIST features Alison Blanchard (Ghost of Christmas Present, Belle, Caroler), Warren Davis (Bob Cratchit), Lauren McCormack (Scrooge), David G. Peryam (Marley, Gravedigger), David Reynolds (Tiny Twist, Young Scrooge), JEN RAY (Little Artful Annie, Caroler), Paul Stroili (Mr. Bumble), Kimberly Van Luin (Emily Cratchit, Libby, Ghost of Christmas Past) and Chris Wynne (Fagin, Mr. Fuzzywig, Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come).

Doug Kaback is Associate Producer of the production.  Lisa Farber serves as Stage Manager.  Lighting Design and Technical Direction is by Scott LeGrand with Efrain Schunior as Sound Designer. Set Design is by Paul Stroili and Scott LeGrand based on (A Christmas Twist writer) Doug Armstrong's original set design. Travis Thi Tuyen has been set as Costume Designer.  Prop Design is bySusanna Wong; Eduardo Arteaga serves asBoard Operator; Jodie L. Panek serves as House Manager.   

SeaGlass Artistic Director Kimberly Van Luin is a theatre graduate of the University of Evansville. She is also a Los Angeles award-winning actress who has performed in Chicago and New York.  In Chicago, she founded the prestigious Griffin Theatre, a company now celebrating its 24th year of producing over 100 plays.   

SeaGlass Managing Director Paul Stroili co-founded Chicago's acclaimed Blind Parrot Theatre Company. A longtime resident of LA, Paul co-hosts State of the Arts with Michael Sterling.  The slightly irreverent, but entertaining weekly broadcast is presented by Breakdown Services on the ever popular LA Talk Radio.com Network.  Since its premiere in 2010, State of the Arts has become the highest rated arts-related podcast in Los Angeles. 

Performances of A CHRISTMAS TWIST will be presented Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00 pm and Sundays at 4:00 pm through December 16... with an additional matinee performance on Saturday, November 24 at 4:00 pm.  Tickets are priced at $30.00 and are available for purchase online at www.seaglasstheatre.org.   

MICHAEL STERLING is a successful entrepreneur of public relations and stage productions. Throughout the years, he has represented such icons as Elizabeth Taylor, Lance Armstrong, Scott Hamilton, Robert Goulet, Joan Collins, George Harrison, the Bee Gees, Andy Gibb, Donny and Marie Osmond and the Osmond Brothers, and Burt Bacharach and Carole Bayer Sager. He has also represented numerous theatre productions including Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat starring Andy Gibb on Broadway, the 30th Anniversary U.S. National Tour of The Fantasticks starring Robert Goulet, Broadway on Ice starring Scott Hamilton and Dorothy Hamill, Concert on Ice starring Dorothy Hamill, and Festival on Ice starring Tai Babilonia and Randy Gardner. The beginning of his career was highlighted by dancing in a Mikhail Baryshnikov television special. Today, Mr. Evans can now proudly boast of having worked with every major awards show, with every television network, and in every medium in which a dancer can work. With a successful professional dance career as his foundation, Evans then launched a stunning career in choreography that has been more than two decades in the making. Having choreographed numerous consecutive world tours for such artists as Reba McIntyre, Paula Abdul, and Chayenne, Evans has earned industry wide. With more than 20 feature films, 15 music videos, and 50 commercials to his choreography credentials, Jerry's reputation as the "commercial king" precedes him throughout the entertainment industry. In recognition of his achievements and contributions in dance, choreography, and production, Jerry has been honored with numerous, major industry and peer awards alike. In more recent years, Mr. Evans assembled a comprehensive knowledge of film and television camera directing based on his years of choreography experience. Whether on a set that requires single or multiple camera direction, Jerry is known for bringing his wealth of experience in film, television (both commercial and episodic), music videos, and live stage to any production.
