Corky Hale, the world renowned and critically acclaimed Jazz pianist, harpist and singer, hosted a Launch Party for her new CD, entitled "CORKY HALE...AND FRIENDS - I'M GLAD THERE IS YOU" at Vibrato Grill Jazz...etc. on Monday evening, September 21, 2009. The new album, a timeless collection of romantic ballads, features singers Corky Hale, Sally Kellerman, Freda Payne, Ariana Savalas, Tricia Tahara and Brenna Whitaker.

Among the 100 guests in attendance, VIPS included: Neile Adams, Rabbi David Baron and Adrienne Moray, Cheryl Boone Issacs and Stanley Issacs, Giselle Galante Broida, Artie Butler and Sharon Shaw, Ry and Susie Cooder, Bob Fead, Richard Fowkes and Jay Marc, Preston Glass, Corky Hale and Mike Stoller, Sally Kellerman, Miles Kruger, Travis Livingston and Randy Talmadge, Peter and Laurie Marshall, Bobby Martin, Lee Newman, Freda Payne, Priscilla Presley, Julia Riva, Dick Rosenzweig and Judy Henning, Ariana Savalas, Oz and Lynn Scott, Jerry Sharell, Tricia Tahara and Peter M Stoller, Alex Todorov, Les and Eileen Traub, Brenna Whitaker and Bill, Marcia and Kori Withers.

The event was catered by Vibrato Grill Jazz...etc. featuring a delectable assortment of wines and Hors d'oeuvres including: Steak au Poivre on crostini with Peppercorn Sauce; Scallop Ceviche on crispy tortilla chips, Grilled Chicken Skewers and Wild Mushroom Crisps with Sautéed Mushrooms and Shaved Reggiano.

Before each artist featured on the new CD performed a song from it, Corky Hale explained to the guests: "This is an album of the most sentimental romantic songs that I could find, with five of the most romantic singers I know. My tagline for this album is: Put this CD on late at night with someone you love." Hale dedicated the song she performed, You're Getting To Be a Habit With Me, written by Al Dubin and Harry Warren, from the film, 42nd Street, to Julia Riva, Harry Warren's granddaughter, who was in attendance.

The performers on the new album are backed by a rhythm section including Corky Hale - Piano, Harp and Vocals; Lorca Hart, Drums; David Hocker, Drums and Steve Venz, Bass. The CD is produced by Jeff Lass of Palisades Records in association with Corky Hale of Corky Hale Productions. The album is engineered by James Barth. Additional engineering and mastering is by Alex Todorov. The CD was recorded in January 2009 at TRAX Studios; 6671 Sunset Boulevard; Hollywood, CA. Photography for the CD is by Chris Barr. Liner Notes are by Peter M Stoller. Art Direction & Package Design is by Tricia Tahara.
