DIRTY FILTHY LOVE STORY World Premiere Opens at Rogue Machine, 11/24

Last season, the 2011 Best Production (Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle, LA Weekly, Ovation, and Garland Awards) Small Engine Repair started out in the "Off The Clock" series. Now, in the tradition of offering "edgier" entertainment in this slot, Rogue Machine launches the World Premiere of Rob Mersola's Dirty Filthy Love Story on Saturday, November 24th at 8pm (no 10pm show that night).

A darker than black comedy about a lonely woman, forced by her meddlesome neighbor to face her hoarding problem. When she finds unexpected love, deeper issues bubble to the surface and her hoarding mess spreads farther than anyone can handle.

ROB MERSOLA (Playwright) has had several of his plays produced in both New York and Los Angeles and has had pieces performed at the World Famous Aspen Comedy Festival, LA's Improv Olympic, among many other notable venues. Applause Magazine has written, "Mersola has the potential to become one of the most successful American Playwrights of the 21st century." Mersola's Play Backstreets and Bathroom Stalls, (AKA Love Sucks) played at the Kraine Theatre in New York, the Lyric-Hyperion Theater in Silver Lake and the Coast Playhouse in West Hollywood with rave reviews. LA Weekly nominated Mersola for Best Director of a Comedy in 2011.

"Hoarding is a fascination of American pop culture and it creates a fantastic backdrop for a story about love and loneliness, complete with kooky characters and extreme circumstances," says playwright Mersola.

ELINA de SANTOS (Director) is an award-winning director whose most recent credits include the LA Times "Critic's Choice" production of Arthur Miller's Broken Glass for the West Coast Jewish Theatre, and the West Coast Premiere of Daisy Foot's Bhutan at Rogue Machine. At RMT she helmed the World Premiere of Razorback by John Pollono, and Yard Sale Signs by Jennie Webb. In 2010, she directed a workshop of Galileo by Bertolt Brecht at Pacific Resident Theatre Co-op. Her many other directing credits include Proof by David Auburn, Misalliance by George Bernard Shaw and Arthur Miller's Death of a Salesman. Elina received a Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle Award for her work on Orpheus Descending.

DIRTY FILTHY LOVE STORY opens on November 24, 2012 at 8pm, running Fridays at 8pm, Saturdays at 8pm & 10pm thru December 29, 2012 (only one performance on December 15th - at 10:30pm). ROGUE MACHINE is located at 5041 Pico Blvd., LA, Calif. Tickets are $20-$25. Reservations: 855-585-5185 or at www.roguemachinetheatre.com.

Andrew Carlberg (Producer) worked with Executive Producer Laurie Zaks on the hit ABC series Castle (starring Nathan Fillion) for its first four seasons, under an ABC development deal. He recently completed principal photography on his first feature film, Some Girls (based on the Neil LaBute play, and starring Adam Brody, Kristen Bell, Zoe Kazan, Mia Maestro, Jennifer Morrison and Emily Watson), and is executive producing the critically acclaimed intimate theater premiere of The Color Purple: The Musical at Celebration Theatre (LA TIMES-Critics Choice, BACKSTAGE- Critic's Pick, and LA Weekly – Pick of the Week/GO!). Andrew produced the shorts Double For Nothing, and After-School Special (written by Neil LaBute). Andrew founded The 4th Wall: Geffen Playhouse Arts Alliance, a theater initiative in partnership with the world-renown theater and The Piece Project, a celebrity-based theater ensemble and reading series. On stage at the Geffen, Andrew produced the Los Angeles premiere of 110 STORIES (starring Katharine McPhee, John Hawkes, Ed Asner, Sharon Lawrence, Malcolm-Jamal Warner, and others). He produced the Los Angeles premiere of Neil LaBute's The Mercy Seat at [Inside] the Ford alongside VS. Theatre Company and the World Premiere of David Dean Bottrell Makes Love at Rogue Machine and the Comedy Central Stage.
