New York City's thirty year old, iconic entertainment venue Don't Tell Mama will dramatically swing open the doors in Los Angeles, literally transporting The Great White Way to the heart of Los Angeles. Famed for a staff of Broadway caliber performers, Don't Tell Mama LOS ANGELES promises a nightly entertainment roster of Los Angeles' most talented singers, pianists, cabaret and performance artists.
To celebrate the arrival of the first west coast site, Don't Tell Mama New York is lending it's staff of Broadway show kids for the opening of Don't Tell Mama LOS ANGELES, flying in a brilliant group of singers and pianists, each with the Broadway credentials to bring down the house on a nightly basis (Think such Broadway hits as "Evita," "Seussical," "Sweeny Todd" and "Footloose"). The New York performers will assist with auditions and mentoring, as DTMLA Artistic Director Ryan O'Connor continues the search process for a permanent Los Angeles staff. In addition to the show tunes and cabaret acts of our friends from Broadway, Don't Tell Mama LOS ANGELES will host performers and guests from Smash, Glee, American Idol, and the touring companies in residence at local major theatrical houses, such as The Pantages, Ahmanson and REDCAT.
Don't Tell Mama Los Angeles offers two distinct spaces: the entertainment venue and the dining room. The entertainment venue features cabaret style seating adjoining the bar, with large banquettes for groups and celebrations. The dining room features intimate seating for approximately fifty dining guests, with a menu of accessible, American comfort food (Think: "Lamb Chops with ratatouille, couscous, and charmouLa Vinaigrette," "Pan Seared Sea Scallops with Sautéed Spinach, Spring Onion, Citrus beurre blanc," and "Mexican Shrimp Cocktail with avacado, cucumber, and horseradish tomatillo sauce") A full bar, along with a boutique selection of wine and beer are available, alongside the traditional, lighthearted specialty cocktails that have "initiated the magic" of Don't Tell Mama for more than three decades.
