Elizabeth Doran has been chosen to fill the position of Managing Director of The Actors' Gang, concluding a two-month search.

"Becoming the Managing Director of The Actors' Gang fulfills a dream for me," said Doran.  "The Gang's powerful, internationally renowned ensemble offers unlimited possibilities.  With a committed board of trustees, the focused artistic leadership of Tim Robbins, the incredible skills of the ensemble, and the energy of Culver City and the greater Los Angeles community, The Actors' Gang is ready to tackle the challenge of moving to the next level of its organizational and creative growth.  It is a great joy for me to join Tim at this critical time and help lead this gathering of visionaries to even higher levels of success."

Hailing from Patchogue, NY, Elizabeth Doran began her career in theater as a writer and performer on the East Coast.  Earning a BA in theater arts at SUNY Fredonia, Elizabeth became interested in building and sustaining great theater companies.  She earned her MBA in Entrepreneurship and Strategy at Rensselaer, one of the top 50 universities in the country. Elizabeth deepened her love of European-styled theater while living in Milan working as a market strategist for the international fashion company Alviero Martini, and returned to the U.S. as the Director of Finance for La Jolla Playhouse.  During her time at LJP she was a part of building shows like Billy Crystal's 700 Sundays and Jersey Boys which went on to New York City and great acclaim.  After subsequently working as the Orange County Performing Arts Center's interim General Manager as it completed its major capital campaign and construction of the Renee and Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall, Elizabeth returned to the East Coast to take on the Managing Director position at Capital Repertory Theatre, an established LORT regional theater in Albany, NY.  EDGES, a new musical developed in the play festival she initiated at Capital Rep, will enjoy a NYC run this winter.

Ms. Doran replaces Greg Reiner, who, this past August, vacated the position he had held for seven years to become Executive Director of Tectonic Theater Project in New York.  During his tenure at The Gang, Greg launched an International Touring Initiative that brought Actors' Gang productions of Embedded, 1984, The Exonerated and The Guys to theater audiences across the U.S. and to festivals in Athens, Melbourne, Hong Kong and London. He also was instrumental in the development of an Education Outreach Department that now serves students K-12 four days a week in after school sessions and facilitated The Actors' Gang move from a storefront theater in Hollywood to the historic Ivy Substation in Culver City, a transition that tripled The Gang's subscriber and audience base and broadened The Gang's community outreach and education programs.

Elizabeth Doran is set to start on October 22.
