James Barbour's Holiday Concert Opens at The Coterie, 12/16

Broadway star and vocal power house James Barbour's Fourth Annual Holiday Concert Tour which is garnering major rave reviews and sold-out audiences opens at THE COTERIE (1775 North Highland Avenue, Hollywood) this weekend where it will play Friday, December 16 at 8:30pm and Saturday, December 17 at 8:30pm.

The holiday concerts are celebrating Mr. Barbour’s new CD, “BRING ME GIANTS,” on the GlobalVision Records Label, which has shipped nationally, and his return to Broadway where he will be featured in the highly anticipated production of “REBECCA” that begins performances on March 27 at the Broadhurst Theatre on 44th Street.

Musically Directed by BETTIE ROSS, both concerts will feature Special Guest Stars and a program of the most exhilarating Christmas and Holiday songs in the American Song Book.

The Friday night guest stars are multimedia personality, producer, author, MTV Host and National Syndicated Radio Anchor KERRI KASEM and actor, artist, director, illustrator, cartoonist, artist, improvisor and author JIM MESKIMEN.

The Saturday night guest stars are Award-winning Los Angeles Music Awards “Best Adult Contemporary Male Vocalist” Michael Duff lead singer and songwriter of Columbia Records’ acclaimed alternative rock act Chalk FarM; Broadway star Mackenzie Mauzy (Next To Normal, A Tale of Two Cities, and the upcoming White Noise) and John Arthur GREENE an acclaimed New York vocal wonderkind who last appeared as Riff in the Arthur Laurents’ Tony Award winning revival of West Side Story.

James most recently starred in the world premiere of Nightmare Alley at the Geffen Playhouse in Los Angeles. He has also starred on Broadway in A Tale Of Two Cities (Sydney Carton) for which he was nominated for Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle andDrama League Awards for Best Actor, Carousel (Billy Bigelow), Jane Eyre (Rochester, Drama League Award Nomination), Beauty And The Beast (Beast), Urinetown (Lockstock), Assassins (Czolgosz), and Cyrano The Musical. He was part of the original National tour of The Secret Garden and starred as ?Lancelot? in Camelot opposite Jeremy Irons (Hollywood Bowl) and Michael York (National Tour). He co-starred in Lewis And Clark Reach The Euphrates (Mark Taper Forum), the world premiere of 20th Century (Signature Theatre) and has appeared in many other regional and Off-Broadway productions including A Tale Of Two Cities at the Asolo Theatre for which he won the Sarasota Magazine Award for Best Actor, Back From Broadway (which he also co-produced and for which he received an LA Weekly Garland Award) and he was nominated for an LA Ovation Award for The Ghost And Mrs. Muir at the NOHO Arts Center in Los Angeles. Bettie Ross is an award?winning composer, pianist, pipe organist, songwriter and choral conductor. In 2009, she won Best Solo Piano Album and Best Solo Piano Song at the Just Plain Folks Awards for her “Magical Time of Year” CD, winning among some 40,000 albums. As a pipe organist, she’s earned Gold records for her work for Faith Hill and for Meat Loaf, and was organist for Pres. Ronald Reagan’s memorial at his personal church, Bel Air Presbyterian. As a keyboardist, Bettie has toured with Melissa Manchester and with The Bellamy Brothers, performing throughout the U.S., including the “Johnny Carson Tonight Show.” For over a decade, Bettie performed and recorded with storytelling group Celestial Navigations. As a composer, Bettie recently completed her first feature?length score for indie film, “Nina and the Mystery of the Secret Room.” She also penned the music for “InSearch of Fellini,” Nancy Cartwright’s award?winning one?woman stage show. Bettie’s music has become “the sound” of OriginOil, the cutting?edge energycompany that creates oil from algae. Audiences have heard Bettie’s music at various Southern California venues such as the Disney Concert Hall, as well as in Italy, Mexico, Australia, Canada, and throughout the U.S. Bettie and her husband live in the Los Angeles area, close to their two daughters and husbands.
