Kelly Ripa Signs 5-Year Deal to Continue on ABC's LIVE!

Deadline reports that talk show host Kelly Ripa has just signed a deal to remain as host of ABC's daytime talk show LIVE for another five years.  Currently, Ripa's contract extends to the fall of 2012. 

This Friday, November 18th, marks the final day of hosting for Regis Philbin.  A new co-host has not yet been named by the show's producers and as a result, the show will temporarily be renamed, LIVE! WITH KELLY.  As a search for a replacement begins, Ripa will be joined by a revolving door of celebrity co-hosts, beginning with Jerry Seinfeld on Monday November 21 - 23. Producers followed a similar plan when co-host Kathie Lee Gifford left the show in 2000, retitling the show 'Live! With Regis'.  Ultimately, Ripa got the job in 2001.   

In addition to Seinfeld, other celebrities set to co-host with Ripa during this period include Jason Segal, Kim Cattrall, Howie Mandel, Jamie Oliver and Miss Piggy.
