Little Beast Theatre Company To Present MINE 2/9-3/11

Little-Beast-Theatre-Company-To-Present-MINE-20010101

Little Beast Theatre Company is set to present the Los Angeles Premiere of MINE, written by Bekah Brunstetter and directed by Dep Kirkland and starring Sam Daly, Adam Harrington and Kieren van den Blink. MINE will open on Thursday, February 9 at 8pm and continue through Sunday, March 11 at The Elephant Lab Theatre, 6322 Santa Monica Blvd. in Hollywood.

About the show: MINE is a universal coming of age around 30-ish story that takes place in Manhattan. It tells the story of Annie, a vulnerable and charismatic poet who never writes poetry. For two years, she has been dating Doug, a successful businessman who wants nothing more than to love and take care of her. She also has a deep connection with Sam, the slacker singer-songwriter who works with her at a neighborhood coffee bar. Sam represents adventure, music, and passion. Doug represents stability, love and home. Which path will Annie choose and how will she get back to the place where she is once again writing poetry and fulfilling her dreams? And in the midst of love, music and business, what is ultimately MINE?

ABOUT THE CREATIVE TEAM

She is a New York New Voices Fellow through the Lark Play Development Center, member of The Primary Stages Writer’s Group, the Naked Radio writing team. She is an alumnus of the Women's Project writer's Lab, the Ars Nova Play Group, and the Playwright's Realm. She is the 2011 Playwright in Residence at the Finborough Theater, London. DEP KIRKLAND (Director) As a writer/director, Dep has written, produced and directed three short films, including, most recently, “I” OF THE BEHOLDER, now on the festival circuit. In Los Angeles theatre, he has directed the Bekah Brunstetter one-act play, I HAVE IT at the Elephant Theatre, appeared in the Ron Dobson one-act THE PASSAGE, and directed and starred in CHALLENGED! by New York playwright FIona Jones, all three for the Little Bird Theater Company’s MIX TAPE One-Act Festivals.

Dep is the Managing Member of Isle of Hope Entertainment, LLC, a film company.

MINE has assembled an award-winning design team. The Set and Lighting Design is by Jeff McLaughlin. The Sound Design is by Dep Kirkland. The Stage Manager is Carla Nassy.

ABOUT THE CAST
SAM DALY (Sam) Born in Providence, RI, Sam was ingrained with a love for theater and film (and performing in general) by his actor parents at a young age. He made his onstage debut in Dead End (Williamstown Theater) at the age of 13. In the Summer of 2005 Sam traveled to Prague, Czech Republic to study film and acting at FAMU. In addition, Sam received his B.A. in Theater and Film at Middlebury College (VT). Most recently Sam has been seen on The Office, Hart of Dixie, Redtails, and the critically acclaimed five star Ebert and Roeper four thumbs up reviewed Web Series The Daly Show (which he stars in alongside his father Tim).
