Top music industry professionals discuss the realities of the music business and careers in music with more than 700 Los Angeles area high school students at GRAMMY Career Day, a GRAMMY in the Schools® initiative of the GRAMMY Foundation with support from Best Buy. In addition, a significant milestone in support of the GRAMMY Foundation's education programs will be announced at the event, which will take place on Wednesday, February 9 at the University of Southern California.

To encourage careers in the music business, GRAMMY Career Day provides high school students an opportunity to interact with music industry professionals in educational settings throughout the country. It conducts a variety of workshops focusing on various fields in the music industry, utilizing the entire USC Thornton School of Music campus.

Artist/Creative Participants include current GRAMMY® nominees songwriter Skylar Grey (Best Rap Song & Song of the Year); songwriting team Angela Hunte and Jane't Sewell (Record Of The Year & Best Rap Song); songwriter/producer Claude Kelly (Best R&B Song); rapper Lecrae (Best Rock Or Rap Gospel Album); multi-platinum producer RedOne (Album Of The Year & Producer Of The Year); and singer/songwriter Eric Roberson (Best Urban/Alternative Performance). Additional participants include GRAMMY-winning producer Warryn Campbell; GRAMMY Award-winning engineer Manny Marroquin and artists JoiStarr, Mohombi, Kelly Price, and Jordin Sparks.

Industry Professionals include "Glee" music producer Adam Anders; Senior Vice President of Creative at Universal Publishing Jennifer Blakeman; Recording Academy Chair Emeritus, GRAMMY Foundation® and MusiCares®Board member and multi-GRAMMY-winning producer Jimmy Jam; Thornell Jones of Fortress Marketing; "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" and GRAMMY Telecast musical director Rickey Minor; USC director of performance venues Brandon Operchuck; Chair of the GRAMMY Foundation Board and chief marketing officer of Coca-Cola North America Bea Perez; MusiCares Board member and head of urban music for EMI Music Publishing Jon Platt; President/CEO of The Recording Academy®, the GRAMMY Foundation and MusiCares® Neil Portnow; USC associate dean for the USC Thornton School of Music Chris Sampson; publicist/entrepreneur Simone Smalls; and publicist Karen Sundell.
