Megan Hilty (9 to 5, Wicked) and 2009 Olivier Award Winner Lesli Margherita (Zorro) join multi-award winning composer and lyricist Ryan Scott Oliver to bring sexy schoolteachers, provocative rent-boys, obsessive homicidal teenagers, and fairy dust to rock out at Theatre at Boston Court on Dec. 4 (8pm) and Dec. 5 (4pm and 8pm).
Oliver is the recipient of the 2008 Richard Rodgers Award and the 2009 Jonathan Larson Grant, a 2009 MAC nominee and the composer of Mrs. Sharp (recently featured at Playwrights Horizons, starring Jane Krakowski, dir. by Michael Greif) and Darling. Previously Rated RSO has sold out shows at Joe's Pub, the New York Musical Theatre Festival, and Boston Court last spring.
Directed by Travis Greisler with musical direction by Brett Ryback, Rated RSO boasts an all-star cast led by Margherita and Hilty and featuring Broadway vets Steve Kazee (Roundabout 110 in the Shade), Morgan Karr (Spring Awakening), Haviland Stillwell (Les Miserables), YouTube sensation Natalie Weiss (Wicked), as well as a host of LA talent including Will Collyer (Mark Taper Forum Parade), Melissa Lyons (Les Miserables), Daniel Tartar (Pasadena Playhouse Last 5 Years), Grace Wall, Emily Clark, Katie Gassert, Eric Michael Krop, Jeff Leatherwood, and Jeffrey Todd.
Rated RSO will be presented by VERY INTENSE PRODUCTIONS and LAUREN BASS, in association with THE THEATRE AT BOSTON COURT.
Ryan Scott Oliver's work has also been heard on the hit YouTube TV show The Battery's Down (cast recording available on Ghostlight/Sh-K-Boom). He is a 2007 Dramatists Guild Fellow and the recipient of numerous awards including the first-ever ASCAP Foundation Harold Adamson Award for Excellence in Lyric Writing. He is currently at work developing a commission by Broadway Across America as well as We the People for TheatreWorksUSA, which will premiere Off-Broadway in 2010.
