New York City Opera today announced a brand new initiative for the 2010-2011 Season, titled ACT 4. ACT 4, a new fourth ring cocktail bar and lounge at the David H. Koch Theater, will serve signature libations, and feature a series of guest performers co-curated by The L Magazine. Each ACT 4 event will take place following select City Opera main stage performances. The first of the ACT 4 events is on November 4 following the performance of Leonard Bernstein's A Quiet Place, and will feature The Blue Ribbon Glee Club.

The Blue Ribbon Glee Club, a hipster darling community of vocalists, transform beloved indie rock songs into entirely new, lively, glee masterpieces. The acapella group turns this suburban tradition on its head by singing songs of dysfunction by the likes of Sleater Kinney, PJ Harvey, the Black Keys, and more.

Performances are free to opera performance ticket buyers in the fourth ring, as well as the rest of the theater. The rest of the series line-up will be announced shortly.

Ticket prices range from $12-$140 for City Opera's main stage performances.
Underscoring its commitment to make opera affordable for all New Yorkers,
New York City Opera will continue to offer 25% of seats for under $25.

Tickets can be purchased in-person at the David H. Koch Theater Box Office (63rd Street and Columbus Avenue), online at nycOpera.com, or through CenterCharge at 212.721.6500.

The fall menu of cocktails includes:

A Quiet Place - "GArden Party"
Plymouth Gin, Pernod, Mint, Lime, Simple Syrup, and topped with soda

Intermezzo - "Perfect Marriage"
Pear Vodka, Lillet, and Lime
