NoHo Announce HAZEL THE MUSICAL & INSIDE OUT Excerpts for June 12-13

NoHo Arts Center will present "A TRULY EXCERPTIONAL EVENING!: Excerpts from two musicals - one brand new, one ever-new" on Tuesday, June 12 and Wednesday, June 13, 2012 - 7:30 pm.

Remember Hazel? The sweet and salty maid with a mission? HAZEL, The MUSICAL re-visits the iconic and beloved sixties TV character who swept into the lives of the Baxter family and cleaned house. Laugh, cry and resolve to organize your closets, as you witness how one wry and witty housekeeper opens a window and airs out the secrets of one evolving American family. How she stands up to and lovingly wipes the floor with her boss, George Baxter, or "Mr. B."

A preview from an award-winning team of their musicalization of the comic strip and television series HAZEL!: A Musical Maid In America, with music by Ron Abel lyrics by Chuch Steffan and book by Lissa Levin (based on characters created by Ted Key), the show is directed by Murphy Cross with music direction from Ron Abel.

HAZEL! Features Zoe Rae Calamar, Scott DeFrietas, Noah Meyers, Jane Noseworthy, Kate West, Joe West, and Judy Nazemetz as Hazel Burke.

INSIDE OUT: A Colorful Musical About An All-girl "Group" is being presented to celebrate the off-Broadway re-release on Kritzerland. A therapist and five women give and get support in a series of weekly group therapy session. They roleplay people in their lives and burst into song at the drop of a hat.

With music by Adryan Russ, book by Doug Haverty and lyrics by Adryan Russ & Doug Haverty, the show is directed by James Mellon with musical direction by David O.

The show will feature Yvette Lawrence Bishop, Elizabeth Brackenbury, Rebecca Johnson, Dana Meller, Robyn Spangler and Shannon Warne.
