One More Productions - one of Southern California's leading musical theater companies - is pleased to announce its 2010-2011 season at The Gem Theater in Garden Grove. The season includes four of Broadway's biggest musicals, plus a Broadway musical revue and a Holiday Extravaganza.

Launching One More Production's 2010-2011 season is the classic musical comedy Damn Yankees (September 30 - October 24), followed by the seasonal variety show The Holiday GEM (November 26 - December 12). Launching the new year is the show-stopping revue Hearts for the Arts (February 11 - 13), followed by the delightful 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (March 24 - April 17), and the stylish Chicago (June 2 - 26). Closing the 2010-2011 season is Stephen Sondheim's fascinating and bold Assassins (July 28 - August 21).

"We're very excited to be entering our third full season at The Gem Theater," says Artistic director and co-founder Damien Lorton. "We have some wonderful Broadway musicals lined up this season, and we've added a holiday-themed revue that's perfect for the entire family. The theater itself has undergone an extensive renovation and we've added a new state-of-the-art sound system, newly refurbished seats, and a reconfigured stage. I think audiences are in for a real treat this season!"

One More Productions 2010-2011 Season

September 30 - October 24, 2010
Damn Yankees
Book by George Abbott and Douglass Wallop
Music by Richard Adler, Lyrics by Jerry Ross
Directed by Damien Lorton

Middle-aged baseball fanatic Joe Boyd trades his soul to the Devil (the charming but devious Mr. Applegate) for a chance to lead his favorite team to victory in the pennant race against the New York Yankees. As young baseball sensation Joe Hardy, he transforms the hapless Washington Senators into a winning team, only to realize the true worth of the life (and wife) he's left behind.

NOVEMBER 26 - DECEMBER 12, 2010
The Holiday GEM

Be a part of a new tradition at The Gem as we celebrate the holidays with a family-oriented Holiday Revue! Come and join along as we sing and dance to some of your favorite holiday songs and carols. Ring in the New Year and share in the joy of the season with your family and friends. Meet Santa Claus, his elves, and your favorite performers in this fun and heartwarming revue. It is the perfect way to start your season.

FEBRUARY 11 - 13, 2011
Hearts for the Arts

One More Productions welcomes back more than fifty past performers in this amazing and show-stopping review, which brings to life the music of Broadway through song and dance. MARCH 24 - APRIL 17, 2011
25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee
Book by Rachel Sheinkin
Music and lyrics by William Finn
Directed by Damien Lorton

Six young people in the throes of puberty, overseen by grown-ups who barely managed to escape childhood themselves, learn that winning isn't everything and that losing doesn't necessarily make you a loser. The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee is a hilarious tale of overachievers' angst chronicling the experience of six adolescent outsiders vying for the spelling championship of a lifetime. The show's Tony Award winning creative team has created the unlikeliest of hit musicals about the unlikeliest of heroes: a quirky yet charming cast of outsiders for whom a spelling bee is the one place where they can stand out and fit in at the same time.

JUNE 2 - 26, 2011
Chicago
Book by Fred Ebb and Bob Fosse
Music by John Kander. Lyrics by Fred Ebb
Directed by Damien Lorton

In roaring twenties Chicago, Roxie Hart murders a faithless lover and convinces her hapless husband Amos to take the rap...until he finds out he's been duped and turns on Roxie. Convicted and sent to death row, Roxie and another "Merry Murderess" (Velma Kelly) vie for the spotlight and the headlines, ultimately joining forces in search of the American Dream: fame, fortune and acquittal. This sharp edged satire features a dazzling score that sparked immortal staging by Bob Fosse.

JULY 28 - AUGUST 21, 2011
Assassins
Book by John Weidman
Music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim
Directed by Beth Hansen

Stephen Sondheim's bold, original, surreal, disturbing, thought-provoking and alarmingly funny Assassins is perhaps the most controversial musical ever written. This most American of musicals lays bare the lives of nine individuals who assassinated or attempted to assassinate the President of the United States, in a one-act historical "revusical" that explores the dark side of the American experience.
