JUNIOR'S GOT TALENT! is an education-focused youth talent showcase that will take place on the Mainstage of The Pasadena Playhouse, as a part of The Playhouse's Wells Fargo Theatrical Diversity Project. Youth from the San Gabriel Valley will have the opportunity to audition in the categories of dance, voice and symphonic instrumentation for a panel of celebrity judges with finalists being featured in two showcase events on August 30 and September 8. The Playhouse and ALM are pleased to also partner with Five Acres, a social services organization for children and families. All Five Acres children will be invited to participate in the showcase events. The entire process, from audition to final showcase, will be presented in both English and Mandarin.

To apply for an audition for JUNIOR'S GOT TALENT!, parents and students can go to www.PasadenaPlayhouse.org and download an online application. An application fee of $88.00 will apply and a limited number of need-based scholarships are available. Applications will include each student's short statement describing his or her passion and inspiration for performance. Applicant showcase auditions will occur at The Pasadena Playhouse on August 11 and August 17 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

36 student applicants (12 in each category) will be invited to the first showcase on Friday evening, August 30, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. Each student will be given 2-3 minutes to showcase his or her talent before an audience and panel of celebrity guests.

15 students (five from each category) will be selected to perform in a final showcase on Sunday, September 8, at 4:00 p.m. These students will again perform before an audience and a panel of celebrity guests, who will select one finalist from each category to receive a $1,000 college scholarship.
