April began with a bang as Upright Cabaret and Chris Isaacson presented An Evening with Yvette Cason starring Yvette Cason at the Catalina Jazz Club, 6725 West Sunset Blvd, Hollywood, CA 90028.

Yvette treated the standing-room-only audience to the songs and stories from her stellar career - from appearing in Play On!, Sisterella and Dreamgirls, performing at the Kennedy Center and the White House, to working with the likes of Stevie Wonder, Babyface and Whitney Houston.

Cason's song list included hits like "My Funny Valentine", "I Am Changing" from Dreamgirls, "Stormy Monday", Beyonce's "Love On Top", "I Can't Make You Love Me" and more, ending with a special version of Carole King's "You've Got A Friend" which included surprise performances by Tony Award-nominee Valarie Pettiford, Carla Renata, Nita Whitaker, Jake Simpson, Karissa Noel, Harrison White and Tony Award-winner Linda Hopkins.
