IMDB News reported yesterday that action star Jackie Chan is planning to memorialize his life story in musical that he will pen. The star then had his likeness unveiled at Madamme Tussauds Wax Museum in Hollywood, California. Click here for more information.

Always a fan of big musicals, The Sound of Music in particular, Chan is extremely excited about the project. Says Chan: "I'm planning to do I Am Jackie Chan: The Musical. I've got a very interesting background. I will talk about how I got into the film business... and how I've come to be today. It's a very interesting, classical musical."

Chan, an actor, action choreographer, filmmaker, martial artist, screenwriter, singer and stunt performer has appeared in over 100 films since the 1970s, including Rush Hour, Rush Hour 2, Rush Hour 3, Shanghai Noon, Shanghai Knights, and King Fu Panda. His next release will be a remake of the Karate Kid, also starring Jaden Smith. He runs JCE Movies Limited (Jackie Chan Emperor Movies Limited) in association with Emperor Multimedia Group (EMG). His films through his Production Company include New Police Story, The Myth, and the hit film Rob-B-Hood. I Am Jackie Chan will be Chan's first foray into mainstream musical theater.
