The sixth annual MusiCares MAP Fund benefit concert celebrated women in recovery and saluted former first lady Betty Ford and the Betty Ford Center at Club Nokia in Los Angeles on May 7.
The evening paid tribute to Ford, a woman who inspired so many through her courage and strength by publicly revealing her personal struggles with addiction, and her incredible work in establishing the Betty Ford Center. Susan Ford Bales accepted the MusiCares MAP Fund award on behalf of her mother. The evening was hosted by Sarge, comic/concert pianist/ singer, and featured special performances by Jebin Bruni, Charlotte Caffey, Exene, Ace Frehley, Beth Hart, Paul Ill, Lemmy Kilmister, Josh Klinghoffer, Wayne Kramer, Annabella Lwin, Corey Parks, John Perry, Linda Perry, Leah Randi, Allison Robertson, Patty Schemel, Kellii Scott, Slash, Matt Sorum, Peter Thorn, and Kathy Valentine. Samantha Ronson performed live during dinner in honor of DJ AM, who DJed for the event last year.
All proceeds benefit the MusiCares MAP Fund, which provides members of the music community access to addiction recovery treatment and sober living resources.
