Photo Flash: Cabaret at the Castle Holds Homage To a Festive Season, Benefits Toys For Tots

On Dec 13th Cabaret at the Castle presented an amazing musical line-up of first-class talent in HOLIDAY MAGIC: A Cabaret Benefiting Toys For Tots featuring Nita Whitaker, Alli Mauzey, Julie Garnye, Ty Taylor, and Jason Graae, with audiences attending the late show (10:00pm) receiving an unscheduled additional surprise with performances by Alan Cumming and Ricky Lake.

This one-of-a-kind cabaret was produced by Julie Garnye and Matt Patton, under the direction of Scott Nevins and hosted by the hysterically funny Shawn Pelofsky with world-class magic by Tony Clark.

The standing room only production kept the patrons in continuous merriment and joy befitting the season with side-splitting comedy, as well as classic holiday tunes that contributed to a glowing homage to a festive season featuring a hybrid of holidays including Chanukah, Kwanza and, of course, Christmas, complete with milk, cookies and a magically induced snow storm on stage. Most importantly, it was a gift-giving benefit supporting the efforts of "Toys For Tots," by collecting hundreds of new unwrapped toys that were gladly received by members of the U.S. Marines in attendance.

Toys for Tots Foundation, an IRS recognized 501(c)(3) not-for-profit public charity is the fundraising, funding and support organization for the U. S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program. The Foundation was created at the behest of the U. S. Marine Corps and provides support in accordance with a Memorandum of Understanding with the Commander, Marine Forces Reserve, who directs the U. S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program. The Foundation has supported Toys for Tots since 1991. For more information go to http://www.toysfortots.org.

The Magic Castle is the world's most famous club for magicians and magic enthusiasts and home to The Academy of Magical Arts, Inc. The Magic Castle is the showplace for some of the greatest magicians from around the globe and houses one of the largest original collections of Houdini's great tools of the trade including his personal handcuffs, straight jacket, metamorphosis trunk and famous milk can escape. Great pride is also taken in showcasing the magnificent building that houses the Magic Castle. Construction of the original mansion was completed in 1909, so the now established Hollywood landmark recently celebrated in centennial. For more information go to http://www.magiccastle.com
