ROCK OF AGES Launches GOWALLA Challenge

Just because ROCK OF AGES is set in the 1980's doesn't mean its technology is. Today, the smash hit musical is launching super Sunset Strip excursions on Gowalla, the social network that inspires people to keep iup with friends, share the places they go and discover the extraordinary in the world around them: http://gowalla.com. There will be weekly prizes and one winner will receive a walk-on role in the hit Broadway musical, which makes its L.A. Premiere at Hollywood's Pantages Theatre for a limited two-week engagement, February 15-27.

ABOUT THE CONTEST

Who can download Gowalla and participate? Anyone with an iPhone, Blackberry, Android, Palm device, iPad! In order to participate and receive clues and updates, you must be following ROCK OF AGES: gowalla.com/rockofages.
Each week (between January 24 - February 11, 2011), ROCK OF AGES will release one Gowalla Trip containing three Sunset Strip locations that people must go to and check-in using Gowalla. Once a trip is completed, you will receive a custom Pin that will automatically be added to your Gowalla Passport.
The first person to successfully complete each weekly check-in challenge will win a ROCK OF AGES engraved USB leather cuff, which includes the complete Original Broadway Cast Recording, plus exclusive content such as extra demo songs, video interviews with cast, make-your-own 80s T Shirt instructions, printable poster and more!
Clues for all challenges will be released along the way via the Twitter and Facebook accounts of both ROCK OF AGES (http://www.facebook.com/RockofAgesMusical and http://twitter.com/rockofages) and Broadway/L.A. (http://www.facebook.com/pantageshollywood and http://twitter.com/pantages).
The five people to complete all the check-ins at the end of the three weeks are entered to win the walk-on role or $1,500 cash prize (if a walk-on does not suit the winner's fancy), with the grand prize winner being randomly selected from these five finalists. In order to win the grand prize, location check-ins do not have to be done in order or during the week the trip is announced, just by the end of the third week.

The Pantages Theatre is located at 6233 Hollywood Boulevard, just east of Vine Street, and the box office opens daily at 10am.

The performance schedule for ROCK OF AGES is Tuesday through Friday at 8pm, Saturday at 2pm & 8pm, and Sunday at 1pm & 6:30pm. Single tickets for ROCK OF AGES range in price from $25 - $90. Prices are subject to change without notice.
