Registration opens today for the Fourth Annual Hollywood Fringe Festival (www.hollywoodfringe.org). Organizers are calling for artists and producers of the performing arts to join the celebrated event invading Hollywood this June. The registration deadline to be included in the printed Fringe Guide is April 1st.
Registration is a three-step process completed through the Festival's website (read all about the registration process). Registration is $250, except for free shows or shows with only a single performance (which receive a discounted registration of $175). Registration fees pay for a listing in Fringe materials and many other benefits. There are no restrictions regarding genre, content, or length for the festival; specifics are left to participants and venues to determine.

The first annual Fringe Benefit is being held tomorrow night (February 2nd) at last year's Fringe Central Station locale to serve as a registration kickoff and fundraiser for the 2013 festival. The event is "vintage-carnival-themed" and will feature live entertainment, including bands, magicians, burlesque dancers, contortionists, aerialists, balloon twisters, dancing and of course, the Fringe Freaks. Lots of goodies will be up for grabs at a silent auction, including a free one-night stay at the Magic Castle, tickets to the Laugh Factory, free yoga classes, bar gift certificates, headshot sessions and a lot more. Food and drink will be available via food truck and the famous Bryan's Bar, open for only one night pre-June. Tickets are $25 at the door, which will open at 7pm sharp (pre-sale tickets are $20). Attendees must be 18 or older. All proceeds will go toward the 2013 Festival.
The Festival is an entire week longer than previous years, taking place June 13-30, 2013 with a week of previews the week before (June 6-11). Performances are staged in venues throughout central Hollywood including the Open Fist Theatre which will again be the home of the Fringe Box Office and Mainstage. Fringe Central, the social hub of the Fringe, will be announced in the coming weeks.
