The Los Angeles Theatre Center is a facility of the City of Los Angeles and operated by the Latino Theater Company. In January 2006, the Latino Theater Company was awarded a 20-year lease for the Los Angeles Theatre Center from the City of Los Angeles and received a $4 million grant from the California Cultural and Historic Endowment to refurbish the building. In October 2007, the building was re-opened as the new Los Angeles Theatre Center.

In 2008, we served 130 artists and arts organizations by providing affordable space rental and donation of space for rehearsals, performances and cultural events and over 39,000 people attended events at the center. Today, the Los Angeles Theatre Center is a world-class arts center for those pursing artistic excellence; a laboratory where both tradition and innovation are honored and honed; a place where the convergence of people, cultures, and ideas contribute to the future. We are committed to artistic professionalism, inclusion, and reflection of the cultural landscape of Los Angeles.
