The world premiere of It Came From the ______! A Choose-Your-Own-Play, produced by Theatre Mab Town Hall (TMTH) through the curated guest-production program SOSEhost at Son of Semele Ensemble, opens March 8 at the Son of Semele Theater in Silver Lake.

It Came From the ______! is a choose-your-own-adventure, 1950s-style B-monster-movie send-up. Internationally-famous scientist Dr. Ken Starr is on the case when a mysterious creature kills several townspeople. With his junior scientist sidekick, intern, the local sheriff, an intrepid female reporter, and the town's friendliest soccer mom in tow, Dr. Starr vows to find the creature, study it and halt the rash of killings with the power of ... Science.

With a little help from the audience, the gallant team is on the path to discovering the situation's who, why, and how to win! The audience has three opportunities to make choices directly influencing the characters' decisions and where the adventure will take them. Come more than once - with only seven performances and eight possible story configurations, you'll never see the same show twice!

It Came From the ______! received a workshop session and performance at the California Institute of the Arts (CalArts) in January 2012 under the direction of TMTH Artistic Director Ella Martin. TMTH company member William Reinbold directs this full production, curated under Son of Semele Ensemble's SOSEhost program. The cast features TMTH company members Paul Turbiak, Olivia Sandoval, Doug Oliphant, Zachary Brown, Cameron Daxon and Maura Latty, with guest appearances by Jeremy Kinser and Deborah Jensen. This original script by Kathleen M. Reinbold features costume design by Lynne Marie Martens and lighting design by Anna C. Martín.
