Southern Fried Chicks Play the Paramount Theatre, 3/3

The Southern Fried Chicks will perform one show only on Saturday, March 3, at 8 p.m. at the Paramount Theatre, 23 E. Galena Blvd. in downtown Aurora. Tickets are $38.50. The Southern Fried Chicks tour brings together Etta May, Sonya White and Karen Mills - all from the South - and what's being described as "their hilarious take on life, love and the pursuit of happiness. It's an impressive roster of female comics that are top headliners in the nation. It's where the 'New South,' the 'Old South,' and the 'Deep South' come together for an evening of clever storytelling for every generation."

Born and raised in Bald Knob, Arkansas, Etta May grew up alongside nine older brothers. Now the reigning queen of Southern Sass, Etta May also is a headline comic on CMT's "CMT Comedy Stage," the second highest rated show in CMT history. The success of the Comedy Stage franchise led to the production of the "Southern Fried Chicks Comedy Tour" special as the first comedy concert series for the national cable network. Additionally, Etta May appeared on the CMT show, "KARAOKE-DOKEY," where she lent her unique perspective as a guest judge on the show in which four contestants compete in a battle for the best impersonation of country great Shania Twain. She was also the subject and first female comic ever on the biography show, "Comedy Club," joining the elite comedy company of Ron White, Larry the Cable Guy and Jeff Foxworthy. In addition to television, Etta May is a regular on the syndicated "Bob & Tom" radio show and XM Radio's comedy channels.

Sonya White, originally from Virginia, combines her Southern charm with big city street smarts to create a show that won her multiple appearances on CBS's "Star Search," and a promo spot on NBC's "Last Comic Standing 4." Other national television credits include Oxygen's "Girls Behaving Badly," Fox Network's "Nightshift", Family Channel's "Big Brother Jake. Sonya also has done colorful national promos for that "Dancing With the Stars" alum Jerry Springer and his infamous "The Jerry Springer Show." Sonya's observational comedy is enhanced by her dead-on impersonations and appropriate sound effects. Sonya is truly an urban lady as she has been a featured comedienne for Verizon Wireless on their "Fun and Games" mobile accessory option. Nothing says "city girl" quite like that.

A native of Tennessee, Karen Mills has been a nationally touring comedian for 19 years and can be heard regularly on Sirius XM "Laugh U.S.A." and "Blue Collar Radio." Karen has shared the stage with many great comedians, including Joan Rivers, Ron White and Jon Stewart. She most recently appeared on "The Henry Cho Show" on GAC television and is an original member of "The Southern Fried Chicks Comedy Tour." Karen also tours theaters with fellow comedian LeAnne Morgan performing the hilarious stage show, "Hen Party."
