Broadway in Concert! at The Canyon, the all new Wednesday night series of intimate concerts headlined by the best of Broadway musical theatre stars and Nightclub artists opening January 7, 2009 at The Canyon Club in Agoura Hills, CA, has added longtime LA musical theatre star Steve Gideon to its opening month roster - it was announced today by Canyon Club Managing Partner Lance Sterling and Producer Michael Sterling of Michael Sterling & Associates in Los Angeles.

Musical Theatre star Steve Gideon brings his all-new, critically acclaimed musical extravaganza The Happening to The Canyon Club stage on Wednesday, January 21, 2009 as part of the Broadway in Concert! at The Canyon Series. Gideon and his "far out band and groovy backup singers" not only pay tribute to great songwriters of the 60s and 70s like Joni Mitchell, Jimmy Webb, Paul Simon, Peter Allen, Billy Joel, and Burt Bacharach, but promise to rock the rafters with such iconic tunes as The In Crowd, Chelsea Morning, Alfie, Son of a Preacher Man, Time and Love, What's Goin' On? and others - including music from one of Broadway's all-time, greatest hits - Hair. A master showman, Gideon skillfully weaves songs and stories into an emotional tapestry of unforgettable music from two groundbreaking decades.

A graduate of Harvard University and a long-time denizen of the LA and NY theatre scene, Gideon's credits include the New York Off-Broadway, LA, Boston and Long Beach productions of the musical hit Nite Club Confidential. He also executive produced the show's original New York cast recording which ran for over a year in Los Angeles (starring Scott Bakula), and holds the record at the former Beverly Hills Tiffany Theater for its "longest running show ever." Gideon also starred in and co-produced the long-running, award-winning LA hit 30's and 40's musical revue, All Night Strut!
Gideon joins previously announced Series opening headliners Broadway and Television star Ilene Graff (from ABC's hit series Mr. Belvedere) who will headline January 7, 2009 with an exquisite show featuring music from such Broadway hits as Gypsy, Promises, Promises, Babes in Arms, I Love My Wife, and Man of La Mancha; Broadway and Television star Eric Millegan (former three year co-star of the current Fox hit series Bones) on January 14 in his critically acclaimed concert featuring beloved hits from Godspell, Big River, No, No Nanette, Snoopy, and Jesus Christ Superstar; and on January 28, distinguished musical theatre star and southland favorite Geoffrey Going (who portrayed the title characters of Jekyll and Hyde in the hit Broadway musical presented earlier this summer in Los Angeles) who brings in a stunning repertoire from such favorites as Stop the World, I Want to Get Off, Annie, Jersey Boys and My Fair Lady; plus a medley of sings written by his late, great uncle - Broadway lyricist Buddy DeSylva (Life Is Just A Bowl Of Cherries, You're the Cream in My Coffe, Button Up Your Overcoat, The Best Things In Life Are Free and I'll Build A Stairway To Paradise.)

Dinner seating for the above dates is between 6:00 and 6:30 pm, followed by an 8:00 pm, one hour performance. VIP Preferred Seating ticket prices are $50 per person and include a three course, prix-fixe dinner with a choice from three different entrees. A secondary VIP Seating ticket price is available at $38 for drinks and show only (inclusive of a minimum of two drinks.) General Admission Seating tickets are $25 including a $12.50 minimum commitment to food and/or drink.

Tickets may be purchased by calling The Canyon Club Box Office at (818) 879-5016; by calling Ticketmaster® or through the internet at Ticketmaster.com®; or by visiting The Canyon Club's web site at www.canyonclub.net. Tickets may be "reserved" (only) for pick-up and payment at the Canyon Club Box Office by calling the Broadway in Concert! at The Canyon hot line at (818) 623-7000. The Canyon Club is located at 28912 Roadside Drive, Agoura Hills, CA 91301. Complimentary parking is available.
