GIFTS OF LOVE: THE WORDS AND MUSIC OF Stephen Schwartz, a benefit concert featuring premiere talent from the musical theatre world, is to take place on February 10. Tickets are $50 a person (food included), and may be purchased through www.brownpapertickets.com/event/308513. Doors open at noon for a lunch/brunch buffet, and the show begins at one. All proceeds benefit Musical Theatre Programs at Culver City/Valley Glen campuses. The event will be hosted by True Blood's Carolyn Hennesy. Terron Brooks was on Broadway as Simba in The Lion King and "Seaweed" in Hairspray. Possibly best remembered for his critically acclaimed performance as Eddie Kendricks in the Emmy Awardwinning NBC mini-series "The Temptations."
Dan Callaway is starring in MTG's CHESS, coming up at The Alex Theatre the day after this event. He's toured with the Broadway National Company of Phantom of the Opera, played Frederic, The Pirates of Penzance at The Guthrie; Freddy inSacramento Music Circus My Fair Lady; Tony, West Side Story; Anthony, Sweeney Todd.
Louise Marie Cornillez went from singing for her supper in Paris to singing with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and the Orchestre National de Lille in France. She's performed with East West Players, San Gabriel Valley Music Theater and Sacramento Music Circus productions of West Side Story, A Chorus Line, Miss Saigon.
Palmer Davis has been on Broadway and national tours: The Will Rogers Follies, A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum. Film: "Charlie Wilson's War" for director Mike Nichols, "Rent" for director Christopher Columbus and choreographer Keith Young.
TAl Fox is a graduate of Pace University's Musical Theatre program and has performed nationally in theater, concerts and cabarets. Recent musical credits include Kate in Kiss Me Kate, Pennywise in Urinetown, and Mrs. Garrett in a hilarious rendition of The Facts of Life, The Musical.
DiAnne Fraser, has performed her hit cabaret show "Part Time Diva" to sold-out crowds throughout California. Her producing credits, in addition to numerous benefit concerts, include a production of Stephen Schwartz' The Baker's Wife in Santa Barbara and the 2011 production of Working in Chicago. By day she is a partner in management/Production Company Industry Entertainment.
Julie Garnye appeared in Hair in concert on Broadway and sang in concert with Stephen Schwartz. She appeared in the Los Angeles LES MISERABLES concert at the Hollywood Bowl and Chess In Concert at the Ford Amphitheater. She starred with Alan Cumming and Alice Ripley in Open All Night: The Music of Lance Horne.
Juliana Hansen was a finalist on NBC's Grease- You're the One That I Want. She's done many concerts for Disney, sung the voice of Cinderella, and appeared in many "Kritzerland at Sterling's Upstairs at The Federal" shows. She has a new CD due out very soon: "Juliana
Hansen Live at The Federal."
Dennis Kyle was in Reprise's They're Playing Our Song; Rooster in Annie, Theater Aspen in Colorado; The Music Man, Downey Civic Light Opera; and has been onstage for several "Kritzerland at Sterling's Upstairs at The Federal" shows. He is a triple-threat song-and-dance man who's performed in many Disney shows.
Kelly Lester was most recently in the Ovation Award-nominated production Spring Awakening. She's a Stage Scene LA award winner for her performance as Mrs. Zero in The Adding Machine - A Musical. Film audiences have seen her in Clint Eastwood's J. Edgar as the Head Secretary. Kelly is a mom of three, and the creator and CEO of EasyLunchBoxes, the best-selling lunchboxes on Amazon.com.
James C. Mulligan was in the national tour of Oliver with Andrea McArdle, has been onstage in LES MISERABLES, Miss Saigon, and South Pacific with Reba McEntire. He is also an artist known for painting largescale fine art and commercial murals. He was a theater major at UCLA when he was hired to work for The Walt Disney Company's art department.
JoAnne O'Brien. Says Billboard, "O'Brien has a strong cabaret voice that seamlessly brings pop generations together." She has several CDs on LMLMusic.com and has appeared onstage in My Fair Lady at The Hollywood Bowl, Assassins, On the Twentieth Century with Reprise, Sweeney Todd, and as Joan Crawford in Judy's Scary Little Christmas.
