HERO Theatre announced the full cast for their benefit staged reading of Tennessee Williams' "Small Craft Warnings" to be led by Emmy Award winner William H. Macy, star of Showtime's Shameless and Joe Manganiello of HBO's True Blood and feature film Magic Mike. The cast includes Tim Bagley, Stephanie Beatriz, Elisa Bocanegra, Dan Donohue, Brent Jennings, and Sam Murphy. The director is John Frank Levey. The benefit will be held on Sunday, July 29 at 6pm at the Annenberg Community Beach House in Santa Monica, CA and will include a silent auction.

HERO Theatre began in August 2011. The company consists of some of today's most prominent and emerging artists from diverse backgrounds and training in stage, television and film. HERO Theatre's mission is to build bridges between cultures by way of the classics. The company will present classical plays and new plays by contemporary playwrights inspired by classics.

Olympia Dukakis is Chair of HERO Theatre's Advisory Board which includes Michael Ritchie (Artistic Director of the Center Theatre Group), Jenny Gersten (Artistic Director of the Williamstown Theatre Festival), Bill Rauch (Artistic Director of the Oregon Shakespeare Festival), director Michael Wilson (Broadway's The Best Man) and 2012 Tony-nominated actor Michael Cumpsty.

This presentation of "Small Craft Warnings" is part of HERO's fundraising efforts to present a world-premiere of a new translation of Anton Chekhov's "Three Sisters", translated by distinguished Russian writer Tatyana Tolstaya and playwright Migdalia Cruz. Most recently, HERO performed a benefit presentation of "King Lear" starring Ms. Dukakis in the title role. It was directed by Austin Pendleton.
