Nominated for a 2012 Ovation Award in "Lyrics/Music for an Original Musical," THE BRAHMIN & THE TIGER returns by popular demand to the Rosenthal Theater at Inner-City Arts.

A presentation by hereandnow theater company, THE BRAHMIN & THE TIGER utilizes original taiko music and movement to enliven a collection of Asian and Pacific Island folk tales and create a transcendent experience for all ages.

"Much can be lost when ancient stories are re-imagined and retooled as we've seen with re-interpretations that take the essence of a story but discard the nuance in favor of explosions and spectacle. THE BRAHMIN & THE TIGER seeks to restore the original intent while not losing a relevancy to today's audiences," says Director John Miyasaki.

THE BRAHMIN & THE TIGER features award-winning actress Jully Lee along with Masato Baba, Jen Baik, Kamil Haque, David Wells, and Vincent Yap.

"THE BRAHMIN & THE TIGER" opens October 5th and runs Fridays at 8pm; Saturdays at 8 pm; and Sundays at 2 pm for the first two weekends. Starting October 20th performances run Fridays at 8pm; Saturdays at 2pm and 8pm; and Sundays at 2pm. All performances will be at The Rosenthal Theater, Inner-City Arts, 720 Kohler Street, Downtown Los Angeles, Calif.

The Opening Night Gala will be October 5 with a pre-show wine and cheese reception and a post-show served-food reception with the cast. Tickets for the Opening Night Gala will be $40.

For performances Oct 6-28: General admission: $25, Seniors & Students $20, Children $8. Early Bird Tickets $14 (before Oct. 4th) and group discounts are also available. Tickets can be purchased online.
