Forte Dramatic Productions partners with Pierott Productions to bring Allen's musical biography to the stage at Mercer County Community College's (MCCC's) Kelsey Theatre. Dates and show times are Fridays, May 12 and 19 at 8 p.m.; Saturdays, May 13 and 20 at 8 p.m.; and Sundays, May 14 and 21 at 2 p.m.

Richmond Triangle Players' 23rd Season will come to a close with its production of the musical smash hit THE BOY FROM OZ, which will play from June 15 - July 16, 2016 at RTP's theater in Scott's Addition. The play opens Thursday, June 16 at 8 pm, following a low-priced preview on Wednesday, June 15 at 8 pm. The production is sponsored by Candace L. Osdene and David Peake.

The American Shakespeare Center's Spring Season production of ARMS AND THE MAN by George Bernard Shaw opened Friday, April 29, and runs through June 11 at the Blackfriars Playhouse, in Staunton, VA. Once in a great while an extraordinary performer comes along, one that not only moves us, but also affects meteoric changes within our culture. Peter Allen, born Peter Woolnough in 1944 in Tenterfield, New South Wales, Australia and who died young in 1992, was one such mega-talented singer/dancer/musical composer, who appealed to a wide audience.Not at first, mind you; it took a few years in the 60s for him to realize his bisexuality and to understand who he was.

Rising Phoenix Repertory, Weathervane Productions, and Rattlestick Playwrights Theater present the world premiere of Thieves, written by Charlotte Miller and directed by Daniel Talbott, at the Monroe Forum Theatre at the El Portal in North Hollywood. Thieves tells the story of a dysfunctional family in East Texas that descends into chaos when their matriarch dies.
