Columbia Stages presents THE THREEPENNY OPERA, a play with music after John Gay?s The Beggar?s Opera, in Three Acts, music by Kurt Weill, German translation by Elisabeth Hauptmann, adaptation and lyrics by Bertolt Brecht, English translation by Michael Feingold, and directed by Henning A. Hegland, running April 1st - 4th, 2009, at The Riverside Theatre, located in the historic Riverside Church at 91 Claremont Avenue between 120th and 122nd Streets.

LA CLEMENZA DI TITO Opens Chicago Opera Theater's 2009 Spring Festival Season On 4/18

Chicago Opera Theater opens their 2009 Spring Festival Season on April 18 with Mozart's La clemenza di Tito (through May 1) at the Harris Theater for Music and Dance in Millennium Park. Absent from Chicago stages in more than a generation, La clemenza di Tito has made a resurgence in the rest of the world. Most notably in New York City last year?both at the Metropolitan Opera and at the Lincoln Center's Mostly Mozart Festival. The New York Times declared, 'Clemenza emerges as a musically ravishing and dramatically complex opera of great immediacy.'

Grey Gardens Hits Broadway in October w/ Ebersole and Wilson

Grey Gardens, which recently concluded its sold out World Premiere production at Playwrights Horizons, will open on Broadway this Fall with performances beginning in October at The Walter Kerr Theatre (219 West 48th Street).
