The bustling beach town of Grand Bend will be even busier this June as a beloved Hollywood star arrives in town. Iconic television actor Cindy Williams, best known for her role as Shirley Feeney on the classic sitcom Laverne & Shirley will play the role of Mrs. Meers in Drayton Entertainment's production of the hit Broadway musical comedy, Thoroughly Modern Millie. The production launches the 2019 Season at the Huron Country Playhouse running from June 5 to June 22 on the Mainstage.

'ZOMBIES 2,' the highly anticipated sequel to Disney's 'ZOMBIES,' a movie that captivated kids and families, will begin production in spring with stars Meg Donnelly and Milo Manheim reprising their marquee roles as Addison and Zed. The announcement was made today during a presentation to advertisers by Gary Marsh, president and chief creative officer, Disney Channels Worldwide. 'ZOMBIES' was cable television's #1-rated telecast among Kids 6-11 and Tweens 9-14 for the year (2018).

Fifty-eight film and television writers have been named finalists for The 44 th Annual HUMANITAS Prize, it was announced today by HUMANITAS Executive Director Cathleen Young and President Ali LeRoi. The writers are nominated for their work in the 30-minute Comedy, 60-minute Drama, Children's Teleplay, Independent Feature Film, Drama Feature Film, Comedy Feature Film, Family Feature Film and Documentary categories. The HUMANITAS Prize was created to honor film and television writers whose work inspires compassion, hope, and understanding in the human family.

The power of a music-driven story, an integral part of Disney Channel's connection to kid and tween viewers, continues to bear out with 'ZOMBIES,' the #1 cable telecast among Kids 6-11, Kids 6-14, Tweens 9-14 and Girls 6-11 in seven months, since the premiere of 'Descendants 2' (July 21, 2017). Among all kids cable TV networks, it is the highest rated telecast in Total Viewers (four million), since the debut of 'Raven's Home' (July 21, 2017), according to newly available L+7 data. Through its first 10 telecasts, 'ZOMBIES' reached 12.8 million Total Viewers, including 4.0 million Kids 6-11. Against big competition from the 2018 Winter Olympics, Disney Channel's ZOMBIES reached 10.3 million Total Viewers, including 3.3 million Kids 6-11, over the holiday weekend with eight telecasts beginning Friday, Feb. 16 (8:00 p.m. EST) through Monday, Feb. 19. The Friday, Feb. 16 premiere of the Disney Channel Original Movie ZOMBIES is the #1 cable TV telecast among Kids 6-11 (1.14 million/4.8 rating) and Girls 6-11 (752,000/6.4 rating) since DESCENDANTS 2 on July 21, 2017 and the #1 telecast across kid cable TV networks in Total Viewers (2.57 million) since the debut of Raven's Home; on July 21, 2017.

The Coachella Valley Repertory Theatre, in Rancho Mirage, California, has mounted a brilliant production of THE CHOSEN as part of its 'American Melting Pot' series. THE CHOSEN examines the lives of two Orthodox Jewish high school friends in Brooklyn during and immediately after World War II. One boy lives in the modern world and one is cocooned in the Hasidic community, but both must deal with their own family concerns, the horror of the Holocaust, and their fathers' estrangement over differing views on Zionism.
