FAIRWINDS Broadway Across America - Orlando announces tickets for the national tour of the Broadway musical MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET, inspired by the electrifying true story, will go on sale Friday, September 21st at 10 am. MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET will play the Bob Carr Performing Arts Centre from October 30-November 4.

Million Dollar Quartet is currently rocking The Toronto Centre for the Arts through the end of the week, and BWW had the opportunity to sit and chat with three of the four men responsible for bringing these iconic rock and roll characters to life each night. Martin Kaye (Jerry Lee Lewis), Lee Ferris (Carl Perkins) and Derek Keeling (Johnny Cash) tell us all about what it's like to portray such well known musicians, what the music means to them and why Million Dollar Quartet has something for everyone.

We were also on hand for the special press event they held earlier that day at the TCA, where they gave members of Toronto's press a performance and posed for photographs. Some New York critics panned Million Dollar Quartet for what they called a dearth of dramatic tension onstage, but it went on to receive a Tony nomination for Book of a Musical in 2010 anyway, and based on the overly passionate delivery of the sizzling tour artists, there's enough fire and fever to bring audiences to their feet and shakin' at the Pantages through July 1. On opening night there was indeed an extra long standing, and swaying, ovation to 'Whole Lotta Shakin' Goin' On'.

When will they learn that simply putting the music of some notable singers on stage without a decent script to back it up does not a good musical make? It's didn't work for "Good Vibrations" it didn't work for "Lennon" and it doesn't work for "Million Dollar Quartet" currently playing at the Paramount Theatre. The only things saving this show are the fact that the incredible performers are playing their own instruments and that there's enough nostalgia on stage to choke a horse. But is that enough?

'Million Dollar Quartet' is an exciting, get-up-and-dance, rock and roll phenomenon that allows the audience to be present at one of the greatest moments in rock and roll history.

On December 4, 1956, four legendary musicians ended up at the same recording studio in what turned into the dream jam session. In 2010, the historic day made history once again with its own Broadway show. And on Tuesday evening, the touring production of Million Dollar Quartet brought all the energy and revolutionary music of the twentieth century to the Sacramento Community Center, a strong beginning to a fabulous week of Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis and Carl Perkins.
