Casting has been announced for the Orange County engagement of Disney's Beauty and the Beast, the award-winning worldwide smash hit Broadway musical. Produced by NETworks Presentations, this elaborate theatrical production will come to life on stage at Segerstrom Center for the Arts from January 14 - 19, 2014.

Once again this Disney favorite brings in the crowd from the adorable little girls dressed in their best "Belle" dresses to the young at heart adults who delight in this Tale.

Disney's Beauty and the Beast, the award-winning worldwide smash hit Broadway musical, is coming to Orange County at Segerstrom Center for the Arts. Produced by NETworks Presentations, this elaborate theatrical production will come to life on stage at Segerstrom Hall from January 14 - 19, 2014.

Like The King and I, Rodgers and Hammerstein's South Pacific is a heartbreaking story told across racial borders and has an elegant score. Last night I fell in love … again … with Disney's BEAUTY AND THE BEAST! And that was surprise. The Musical holds a very special place in my heart since Broadway's original Belle, Susan Egan, and Broadway's final Belle, Anneliese Vanderpol, are both former students of mine. I was looking forward to seeing the production - but I was, in no way, expecting to be so completely taken in. It was a first class production all the way and was, by far, for me, the best musical theatre production in the McCallum's 25th anniversary season and the perfect way for them to begin to bring down the curtain on a tremendous and memorable year.

Disney's Beauty and the Beast is coming to Palm Desert as part of the Rabobank Broadway Blockbusters Series at The McCallum Theatre and it stars "local girl' Hilary Maiberger as Belle. Produced by NETworks Presentations, this elaborate theatrical production will come to life on the McCallum stage for five performances on Friday, March 22nd at 8pm, Saturday, March 23rd at 2pm and 8pm, and Sunday March 24th at 2pm and 7pm. I had the chance to chat with Hilary about "being Belle", life on the road, career aspirations and a number of other things. Here are a few excerpts from that interview:

Broadway actress Hilary Maiberger, who plays the lead role of Belle in the touring production of Disney's Beauty and the Beast, will visit Roy Herburger Elementary School in Elk Grove as part of the school's "Read A Book For Belle" contest, which is tied to their accelerated reading program. Maiberger will be at the school on Friday, March 8, from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM to congratulate "Read A Book For Belle" contest winners and read to students in classrooms.
