Thin Air Theatre Company producers are gearing up for a new year at the Butte Theater 139 E. Bennett Avenue, Cripple Creek. The news season starts June 5.
The Fantasticks - June 5-Sept. 26
The Fantasticks, a 1960 musical with music by Harvey Schmidt and lyrics by Tom Jones, the world's longest-running musical, for 42 years.

Beginning Tuesday, March 31st, the Broadway production of JERSEY BOYS, the Tony, Grammy and Olivier Award-winning hit musical, will launch a day-of performance mobile student lottery. JERSEY BOYS is the only currently running Broadway production to employ a mobile lottery at this time.

Impro Melbourne is set to present Improvisation for Actors, a series of workshops run by professional actors for professional actors to explore spontaneous improvisation. The workshops are perfect for anyone interested in honing their impro skills for auditions, stage work, rehearsal techniques, and improvised work for theatre or television. The workshops will be responsive to participant needs and will cover impro basics (spontaneity, being present, removing fear), scene work (inspiring your partner, using offers, developing a narrative, playing the moment), character work (discovery through impulse, offers and response), and releasing creative blocks (playing the moment with commitment, leaping into the unknown).

The WHOLE BACKSTAGE THEATRE is proud to announce auditions for it's summer musical, 'Annie Warbucks,' Friday March 6th at 6:30PM for adults and Saturday March 7th beginning with children's auditions at 10AM and following with adults and children at 2:00pm. Sunday, March 8th will be used for callbacks if needed.
Picking up right where our record-breaking holiday production of 'Annie' left off, Oliver 'Daddy' Warbucks (Ken Patterson), a hard-nosed billionaire with a heart of gold, receives the troubling news that the law requires he marry within sixty days, or his newly adopted daughter (Laura Kate Smith) will be returned to the orphanage from which she came. It's then a race against time as Warbucks and his staff feverishly search for a bride, all while a stubborn Child Welfare Commissioner has her hand on the dial.

On February 28, 2009 the Courthouse Center for the Arts will be hosting tap auditions from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. The auditions will be broken down into two levels. Level one (junior level) is for 8 year olds - 12 year olds (intermediate - beginner advance). Level two (senior level) is for 13 - adults (beginner advance - advance).
