The Colony Theatre has announced the plays for its 2015-2016 season. The multi-Ovation Award-winning theatre company will be bringing its subscribers and audiences five World, West Coast, or California premieres, including a World Premiere one-woman show starring Patty Duke as Mary Todd Lincoln, and a World Premiere musical based on stories by Damon Runyon, with the music of Frank Loesser.

MCC THEATER has announced complete casting for the New York premiere of Jennifer Haley's The Nether directed by Anne Kaufman. Ben Rosenfield, memorably of the final two seasons of "Boardwalk Empire," and rising talent Sophia Anne Caruso will take on the roles of Woodnut and Iris, respectively. As previously announced, The Nether will also star "Nurse Jackie" Emmy Award winner Merritt Wever, New York theater veteran Peter Friedman and Tony Award winner Frank Wood.

One of my very favorite Christmas stories of all time is A Christmas Memory by Truman Capote about his boyhood growing up with his eccentric cousin Sook Faulk. Geraldine Page played Sook in a 1966 telefilm, and it was later remade for television in the 80s with Patty Duke. It is the Page version that stays with me, having left a lasting impression of the woman, the era and its fierce impact on humanity. Now Duane Poole has fashioned a retelling of the story with music by Larry Grossman and lyrics by Carol Hall in a new musical version of A Christmas Memory making its Southern California premiere at Laguna Playhouse through December 29.

This vividly written, moving and very funny tale will be presented by Open Stage of Harrisburg November 29 to December 29, 2013 and is the second play in Season 28 at the professional theatre located at 223 Walnut St, on the Street level of the Walnut Street Garage in Downtown Harrisburg. This production will be a Northeast Premier of A CHRISTMAS MEMORY, which was created by dramatist Duane Poole, composer Larry Grossman and lyricist Carol Hall (The Beast Little Whorehouse in Texas). Open Stage Executive Artistic Director Donald L. Alsedek directs the production.

Today, we're featuring Jean LeClerc circa 1982. LeClerc first started his career in Quebec on the television series Les Belles Histoires des pays d'en haut. Roles in Quebecois movies followed, culminating in his first English-speaking role in the 1976 Canadian film, Strange Shadows in an Empty Room. That same year, he acted in a television miniseries about the life of Sarah Bernhardt, playing the role of Bernhardt's husband Jacques Damala. LeClerc moved to the United States in 1982, playing the part of a French doctor on the soap opera The Doctors. He played similar roles on The Edge of Night and As the World Turns before being offered the role of American Jeremy Hunter in 1985. In 2001, LeClerc briefly reappeared on All My Children, with his character Jeremy appearing as a ghost. LeClerc most recently appeared in a Patty Duke Show television reunion special and in the 2005 film Idole instantanee. LeClerc also appeared on Broadway as the title character in a production of Dracula.

Ed Asner is a television legend, the winner of seven acting Emmy Awards (which ties him with Mary Tyler Moore, both of whom rank second to their Mary Tyler Moore Show (1970) co-star, Cloris Leachman who has nine). In all, he has been nominated 20 times for an Emmy Award, with 17 nods for a Primetime Emmy and three for a Daytime award. (All of his wins were for primetime.) As well as being one of the most outstanding and most respected actors of his generation, equally adept at comedy as he is at drama, Asner also made a name for himself as a trade unionist and a political activist. He served two terms as president of the Screen Actors Guild, from 1981-1985. Because of his busy schedule, Ed Asner rarely makes public appearances solely to meet and greet fans. From September 19 to 21, 2013, Asner will be among the celebrities at the Mid-Atlantic Nostalgia Convention, devoting his time for fans of The Mary Tyler Moore Show, Elf, Hawaii Five-O, Up and numerous other accomplishments. Asner will dedicate a minimum of eight hours a day for each of the three days, posing for photographs with fans, signing autographs and participating in a question and answer session on stage. The Mid-Atlantic Nostalgia Convention is a three-day festival where television and movie lovers from around the world can gather to watch premiere screenings of rare motion-pictures and documentaries, meet and greet iconic Television and Hollywood actors, and learn more about the by-gone era of Hollywood cinema. This year marks the eighth year for the Convention. Attendees from all over the country (and the globe including Belgium, Finland, Canada and the United Kingdom) who attended past events met such celebrities as Shirley Jones, Patty Duke, James Darren, David Hedison, Davy Jones and many others. Ed Asner will be joined this year with Julie Newmar (Batman, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers), Johnny Crawford (The Rifleman), Larry Storch (F Troop), Elizabeth Shepherd (The Avengers), Robert Loggia (Big, Independence Day, The Sopranos), and Academy Award winning actress Margaret O'Brien (The Secret Garden, Meet Me in St. Louis). Based on the beloved film starring Michael Caine and Robert Duvall, Secondhand Lions springs to musical life in Seattle with a superbly talented cast of Broadway stars and Seattle musical theater actors. Lead by Tony Award nominees Gregg Edelman and Mark Jacoby, this adventure story also features Jason Danieley, Jenny Powers, Kevin Earley, Jared Michael Brown, Kendra Kassebaum, Sophia Anne Caruso, and Justin Huertas. Johnny Rabe, star of Broadway's A Christmas Story, takes center stage as Walter.

From 1964 to 1968, Chad & Jeremy had eleven U.S. hit singles and released seven classic albums. Since then, the music of Chad & Jeremy has been re-released on countless albums and CDs worldwide. The Capitol Center for the Arts celebrates five decades of Chad & Jeremy with their performance tonight, August 11, at 7:30pm. Tickets are on sale for $30.

The Film Society of Lincoln Center announced Fasten Your Seatbelts (Part 2): 20th Century Fox (today, August 9-15), a summertime big screen showcase of some of the movie studio's most beloved and unforgettable films. Presented via DCP restorations and beautiful studio library 35mm prints, with a focus on a single artist and their creative contribution to each film, Fasten Your Seatbelts is sure to be a truly rare movie-going event. In the summer of 2010, FSLC presented the first Fasten Your Seatbelts series to coincide with and celebrate 20th Century Fox's 75th Anniversary. The popularity of that series, including screenings of classics like ALL ABOUT EVE, M*A*S*H and ALIEN all but demanded that Film Society and the studio present a 'sequel' at some point.
