Theater Mitu will present a new production of DEATH OF A SALESMAN.

Theater Unspeakable brings their brand of family friendly, physical theater to Philadelphia with The American Revolution, a whirlwind re-telling of the American fight for independence. It runs in Arden Theatre Company's Studio Theatre, June 2-June 11, 2017.

The producers of the Tony, Grammy and Olivier Award-winning hit musical JERSEY BOYS are pleased to announce that Olivier Award nominee Ryan Molloy, who won critical acclaim for originating the role of Frankie Valli in the London production, will join the Broadway company for a limited engagement, Tuesday, July 29 through Sunday, October 19.

Prospect Theater Company will present the New York premiere of Jasper in Deadland, a new musical with book by Hunter Foster and Ryan Scott Oliver, and music and lyrics by Oliver. Performances are March 16 through April 13 at the West End Theatre in the Church of St. Paul and St. Andrew. A press opening is scheduled for March 26 at 7:30pm.

The Beverly Arts Center's 2014 Professional Theater Series opens tonight, Jan. 11 with 'BAC to Broadway,' a cabaret show featuring music from Broadway shows. The three-show series continues with 'Songs for a New World' in March and 'Ain't Misbehavin' in June.

In the can-do spirit of so many popular Broadway musicals, seven professional performers are joining BAC Artistic Director of Theater and Dance Shellee Frazee to stage "BAC to Broadway, A Benefit Cabaret," Sat., Jan 11, 7:30 p.m. and 10 p.m., at the Beverly Arts Center, 2407 W. 111th St., Chicago. All tickets $20, and all proceeds will go to funding the BAC professional theater series.

Even better: Orange County---my home base---boasted some of the best shows, period---marking an exciting theater renaissance in brilliance and artistry that I hope continues to grow here inside L.A.'s next door neighbor. OK Broadway Producers, we need to have a chat. I understand your need to turn every mildly successful movie into a big flashy Broadway Musical in hopes that the name recognition will sell tickets. And I understand that "Priscilla, Queen of the Desert", currently on tour and playing at the Paramount, was ripe for the picking to be a huge spectacle on stage. But if you're going to take a beloved film with tons of pride and heart then at least do the story justice when you do it instead of the pandering and forced version of the story I saw last night.
